I am in the beginning stages of the home theater build. The room that will be set up is somewhat large, 17x22 with 10 ft ceilings. It opens up to the kitchen (6 ft opening) and the dining room (4 ft opening). What I am looking at right now are M3 in the front, the vp 100, qs4's in the rear and a Adire Rava for the sub. I also need suggestions on the receiver, I really like the H+K, but cannot decide on the 325 or the 525. Listening will mostly be HT, about 80%.
Basically, I need to know if this setup will be enough for my room, or should I step up to the M22's and 150? The wife does not like floor standers, so the m60's are out.
I appreciate this wonderful forum and welcome any and all suggestions.

M22's and the 150 are the way to go.

tell her the 22's will need stands anyhow. shot for the 60's and let her choose the colors. i also told my wife that we wouldn't get good sound w/out floor standers. she bit, and we have the 60's. or option b...get the 60's, tell her the "factory" screwed-up, and it costs toooo much to send them back. naturally be sure you have a glass of wine, the dinner table set with candles lit, and the meal all prepared for her.

I would say it really depends on your budget. If you can afford the m22's and the vp150, go for it. If budget does not allow, you would definitely be happy to go with the m3's and vp100.
No reason to go into debt buying speakers, just buy what you can afford, and enjoy.

Since we are builing the house right now (set to close at the end of Nov), I am already doing the things that you mentioned in order to get the M3's. We have many other purchases to make, and I think that the m60's are just out of reach. But that brings up another good point, should I go with the m3's and plan on upgrading to m60's or just get the m22's and be done with it? BTW, she already gets to pick out the color of the finish.

I always say get the best you can get right now. It sounds like you can afford the M22s, so I'd go with those now. Who knows? You may not ever want to upgrade them.
Getting the M3s instead of the M22s to save $125 towards the purchase of the M60s in a year or two doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me.

Micah, M22s with the Yamaha 1400(for the automatic room and speaker equalization).

think about this...how many times will you use the central vac system, and how many times will you use your music system? just teasing, but you'll never be done with the wants; it's a virus with no cure.

The hk 325 and 525 both have the automatic room calibration as well. I ruled out the Yamaha because reviews were that it was too bright. I like a more melow sound anyways, so I am leaning toward the hk. I just need to know if anyone is running these two receivers and if they think the 325 is enough or if I should go with the 525.

No, Micah, equalization, not calibration. Also, forget about a Yamaha(or any other properly designed receiver)being "bright". That's a bit of total nonsense that's been floating around for years.
