If it is like the 600, you want to set the Trim to "flat" for starters, crossover to bypass or cranked to the max, phase to 0 for starters.
What switches are you talking about?
Have you run the calibration test tones from the receiver, do you get the pink noise (static) sound when calibrating with the mic?

Your Subsonic filter should be off and your phase at 0 to start

haven't done the calibration test tones yet. I'll get that done today and see how that goes.
Looks like i'm going to have to pay to get the knob fixed... went to the gym today and my buddy that helped me move it says he felt something "catch" when we were laying down on the floor. just checked, and yep... there's a nick in the wooden t.v. stand right where the knob is/was.
Guess I have to call Noreen and let her know the what really happened.

hopefully that didn't cause any internal damage.

Thread hijack Since we have an EP-800 club starting up I would like to ask if anyone has tried to connect their sub with balanced cables? The reason I ask is I tried this out during my initial set-up and the results were BAD . I switched back to RCA and no problem at the moment. Mel N.

I'd be real carful doing anything if the knob is stuck at full gain. I don't own one, but given the level of sub experience of those you have already heard from, finally getting a signal could damage the driver if you are not careful. Also, I would be concerned that you did more than break the knob. Assuming Axiom used a good gain attenuation device, you might have damaged the device before the knob broke. Just saying, be careful are you might be replacing more than a knob! And could be on your dime as you have publicly admitted it was due to a bad install. Ouch. Then again, for the price of an 800, I’d expect it to very hard to break a control – how hard did he hit it?

If the knob broke at the peak level, couldn't he turn the sub's output level max down on the receiver and use the receiver to adjust the volume on the sub for a temporary fix until the knob issue gets resolved.
Zimm, these subs are very heavy, whenever it hits something it has a lot of mass backing it up, he probably wouldn't have had to hit something very hard to break the knob ... the weight and size can definitely be a PIA whenever it comes to moving these big subs around.

They certainly look heavy. I'm getting woofer envy.

If I set-up using balanced cables I can't make enough adjustments to level the sound dB's. This morning I did an experiment using RCA vs XLR These settings stayed the same throughout the test. My sub output in the Pre-pro was at 0 dB (no lower setting) I used auto set-up
Crossover Frequency 150 Volume / Gain EP-500 6 O'clock EP-800 9 O'clock
Started with the RCA cables FL +0.5 dB FR +1.0 dB C -0.5 SL -1.5 SR -3.0 EP-500 -2.5 EP-800 +1.0
Next the XLR cables not changing any settings FL +0.5 FR +1.0 C -0.5 SL -1.5 SR -3.0 EP-500 -12.0 EP-800 +12.0
So my dilemma is, in order to even out my sub I either have to lower the output in the pre-pro ( can't it's at the minimum ), Increase the vol / gain on the EP-800 ( can't increase it enough to come close to the EP-500 ), decrease the gain in the EP-500 ( can't same reason as above ) I'm now wondering if the XLR connection on the EP-500 is faulty? I tried to adjust the gain on the back and it was either very low level or when I moved it slightly to increase the gain it would go to max sound level ( no gradual increase, all or nothing ). So if anyone is still awake that's my problem. Brent from Axiom is looking into it. Mel N.
