A power surge cause the fuse to blow on my EP175 Sub. Everytime I replace the fuse, it blows when power is supplied. I figure something got fried. Is the a way to order replacement parts?

im sure you can buy a new amplifier from axiom, but dont expect them to pay for it because you not having your equipment properly protected from a power surge, and the power surge is not axioms fault and in no way should they be obligated to replace it free of charge.

Unless, of course, the product wasn't engineered well enough to withstand a power surge, or has a defective amp, etc.

thats like saying..

"i crashed my car" now you guys need to give me a new one because your car wasnt engineered good enough to withstand an impact.

Because sub amps are relatively cheap to buy fixing it probbly wouldnt be worth it. depending on whos doing the fixing. If you cant get a replacement from axiom and dont get anywhere talking to Joe (whom you should call BTW) Parts express sells a bunch of sub amps that might be suitable.

Or like having a bolt shear off because of shoddy quality control at the factory causing a whole wheel assembly to fall off while traveling at 55mph, right? Not saying at all that Axiom makes poor equipment, but maybe the guy got a bum amplifier to begin with. You don't know, I don't know. Stating that "don't expect Axiom to pay for it" without knowing any facts is a little harsh, especially on a newbie.

What kind of a power surge are we talking about? Lightning strike or a clothes drier kicked in?

Isn't the fuse designed into the system to protect the rest of the system from getting fried in this situation?

That's my impression. All power going through the sub must first pass through the fuse. A fuse is supposed to short out when too much current flows through it. The filament inside it will melt, thus breaking the electrical connection as soon as its rated current threshhold is reached.

If a new fuse blows when you apply power, then there is some damage further down the pipeline. This "other damage" is likely what cause the initial fuse to blow, and not a power surge.

In any case, I'd call Axiom ASAP. Hopefully, the amp is still under warranty (1 year from date of purchase, I think).
