AHHH buried in options lol. I'd rather know more than less, I think I will indeed wait a bit to buy a new TV. However the old 27' Magnavox has got to go! Great input here, I posted in another sites forum and got like 1 reply it was rather dismal... But not here thanx much guys.

Hi Spiff, Sid, all,
Projector Central is always interesting reading and the judgments well-considered. However, in contrast to Evan Powell, the writer, I LOVE the sharpness and contrast of DLP, and I found the early implementations of LCoS good, but lacking the deep blacks and contrast that DLP delivers. (I am not sensitive to the "rainbow" effects of the slower color-wheel DLP units that affect, apparently, about 20% of viewers.)
I have not seen a demo of any LCoS front projectors. The rear-pro models I saw were an early RCA and the JVC. So don't all carried away with the promise of LCoS until you view them along with some DLP models. You may find, like me, that you prefer the extreme sharpness and stunning blacks that DLP can deliver. I'll update my impressions after the CES show in Las Vegas ends, on Jan 12th. . .

I'm really looking forward to seeing LCos, based soley on what I've read. From what I've actually seen, DLP is by far my favorite of the new technologies. LCD and Plasma just don't do it for me.

I certainly agree with you there Craig, I haven't been overly impressed with either LCD or Plasma. Sure the price has come down drastically, but I still think they've got a long way to go on quality! At the risk of sounding archaic, I still am very happy with my CRT and it's as good a picture as anything else I've seen available.
Now maybe in a couple of years when I move into a new place and have a little more room, that projector will be the cat's aft.

I also still prefer the look of CRT over any of the newer techs. The problem is size. I want a 60"+ TV. To get that in CRT would take up WAY too much space.
Perhaps by the time I'm ready to get a new TV, a projector may actually be the thing. I just have to keep working on Roger. He's not keen on the FP idea. I think it would ROCK. If I do go that route, it'll only be if we own a place, rather than renting, because I'll want the recessed, automatic screen in the ceiling.
