I purchased some factory outlet M22s, VP150, and QS4s about 3 months ago, and maybe a month after I noticed that one of the M22s sounded like it was blown. However, it was not all the time and it is not reproducable. At sufficiently high volumes I never notice the problem, but when there it a low level sound being played (usually brass and woodwind instruments during soundtracks), I notice the problem about 10% of the time.
I swapped the M22s and notice the problem from the same speaker so it must be a problem within the speaker itself. I'm wondering if it may be just some electrical problem inside the speaker since the woofers don't seem to be blown.
I'm using a Pioneer Elite 45TX as the receiver and SVS 20-39 PCi sub.

Call Axiom. From what I've read around here, they're very helpful with this sort of thing.

I had a defective woofer on my M22 and they sent me a new driver right through the mail, very easy to swap out. To determine which driver was the bad one, I had to take off the grill, then listen to each driver with my ear right up to it. Once I did that it was easy to hear which one it was. Hope its as easy for you. Good luck!

Hello all!
I had a similar problem with one of my M22's. I spoke to Joe at Axiom, who immediately had a pretty good hunch as to what the problem was. He said that there is a gasket that can loosen during shipping, and all it takes is a tightening of the lugs around the woofer (and maybe even tweeter) with an Allen wrench to get rid of that buzzing.
I was experiencing it only with specific low frequencies, most memorably the deep bass notes from the intro to Steely Dan's "Babylon Sisters" on the Gaucho SACD. I tightened up the lugs, and sure enough... no more buzzing!
I'd bet dollars to donuts that your problem is the same. Let me know!
Happy New Year to everyone,
Lee

The driver was defective, and Joe is sending a replacement.
