The inserts will eventually pull out if used to hang the speaker from them, it is just a pressure fit.

Hmm. I want to double check this with Ian--when we asked him about that, I'm pretty sure he said you could. Of course, this is before the design was finalized, so something definitely could have changed.

Okie dokie. Guess I misunderstood what Ian was saying--we did start joking about various ways to do it pretty quickly there...

I would just attach a couple of wooden bars to the existing inserts(sticking out past the edge of the cabinet) and attach your ceiling mounted chains to the bars on the underside of the speaker. That's how Al Borland would do it.

I think one or our occasional forum members in Hawaii did hang a pair of M80s using chains. I don't recall details or if he ever posted how he did it.

I think Adrian has the right idea.
Yeah, Mark, it's all your fault. That comment you made about "when I get a wall-mounted flatscreen, I'm going to set a VP180 on the TV stand" was illuminating.
Of course, by then, I might be talking about a projector anyway since it's going to be "the next house".
Just, you know, thinking about stuff and asking questions. Stupid liberal arts degree.
