Thinking about redoing my living/listening room. I listen to 2 channel most of the time. I could get rid of 3 amps & a processor. Question is will I like the Mac MA6600 or 7000 with my M80s & will I need my EP500? Getting new leather furniture & a smaller cabinet would be nice.

Sorry that I can not be of any help. Hope someone will be able to advise you. Sorry about the question but I did not quite understand the title of your post. Did you mean downgrade or upgrade? Sorry about the question but English is not my mother tongue.
Believe those who are seeking the truth. Doubt those who find it.

Title is kind of odd. I quess I don't know if getting rid of 3 good amps for one hopefully great amp is upgrading. I really like all the power I have so to downsize or not to downsize, that is the question.

Hi bruceg,
You'll likely miss the EP500 if you watch movies and home theater. For music in two channels, not so much unless, like me, you enjoy Wurlitzer theater pipe organ recordings, and the 500 really does increase the low-frequency impact.
The M80s have excellent usable room output down to the mid-20-Hz region and do a fine job with most low-frequency musical instrumental output. Only some pipe organs have energy below 20 Hz, and the fundamentals are at a very low level. The 2nd harmonic at 32 Hz carries most of the audible energy from a 64-ft pipe. Still, the EP500 does add some musical impact.
As to using your Macs and Carvers, if they're working fine, why change? At Axiom, we're firmly on the side of no audible differences in amplifiers except maximum clean power at high playback levels.

Oops, I misunderstood your question. I thought you already had Macs.
However, I don't see why you'd change from the Carvers, except to down-size, as you say. Do I think you'll hear any difference in the Carvers and Mac? No, unless you imagine you hear a difference. If you turn off your psychological bias to "hear" a difference (that's hard to do without a double-blind setup), if the amps measure the same, they sound the same.
