I would like to express my thanks to all here that took time to answer my questions.

In case you are interested I finally took the plunge and ordered my speakers. I finally (after long debates...with myself) ordered the M60ti's, VP150, and the QS8's.

I can not wait to hear them and hope to love them.

Good choices Mike, I am doing the very same.

I got the same setup 2 weeks ago. The clarity is amazing. I hear things in music CDs that I never heard before. Watching movies is like a new experience. The sound out of the QS8s is super.

I'm still learning how to get everything setup/calibrated properly with my Denon AVR. I have to figure out what the best settings are for listening to music in stereo. Right now I listen to everything in the 5 channel mode.

The Radio Shack sound meter made a big difference in getting all the speakers leveled.

I plan to buy the Radio Shack SPL meter today. I have read that the analog on is fine, is there any reason besides cost not to go with the digital one?

First of all, congrats on your system. You'll love it. I have owned the M22's, VP150 and QS8's (plus SVS sub) for about 2 years now, and wouldn't trade it for anything in this price range.

As to the sound level meter, either one is fine. Some prefer the analog, some prefer the digital. I use the digital, and it works great. Let us know how it sounds once you set it up.

I got the analog SPL. It was easy to use and worked well. I'm sure either analog or digital is fine also.

Why does one need spl meter, looks like quiet a few people use it to clibrate the system.
I have a pioneer elite which does a automatic calibration. will i benifit more by using a spl meter?

My receiver does not do auto calibration. Therefore, to try and do it by listening to each individual speaker and adjusting, it's very difficult. The RS SPL sure made it easy and I was surprised at the different sound level readings each speaker gave from the prime listening area.

I'm sure someone else can comment on auto calibration.
