Does anyone know what the trade in/up policy is?

I'm interested as well, as I am having bad what-if-itis because I got the vp100 and qs4's. I also need a pair of m2's to use as rears.

Let me ak you a question. I have a small room with the m3ti and a vp100. Do I need to go up to the vp150or will I be overpowered?

I can't answer that. My room is small-medium (13x18x8) and I have the vp100. I have never heard the vp150. My guess is that with the vp150 you wouldn't be overpowered, but in a small room at normal listening volumes there might not be any noticable difference between the two.

Mark,

I believe that if the power of "what-if-itis" could be harnessed, we would no longer be dependent on fossil fuel. With that in mind, I will not try to dissuade you from chasing the VP150. I will tell you that my VP100, in a 16x22x10 room and flanked by M60s is well beyond just adequate.

BTW, I have not heard a VP150 (it would not fit in my setup anyway). I regard this a good thing since I am pretty much the "Typhoid Mary" carrier of the what-if virus. My view towards this type of thing is that, especially at my age, it's pretty late in the game and I don't want to be "almost happy" with this stuff.

Can you catch an audition through Amie to listen the speakers you are considering? Whatever you do - be sure you enjoy the end result

I have the VP150 in a 16'X24' room with a 16' cathedral ceiling. I decided buying the VP150 was like a vaccine for "what-if-itis". Although what about reverse "what-if-itis"? I hear that is rare in these parts!

Seriously, it sounds great, but would the VP100 have worked? I guess I'll never know.

John

You know what's funny about the "what-if-itis"? If there was no VP150 (think back to the day when the VP50 was standard fare), then we'd all be perfectly content with the VP100 - and you wouldn't even hear complaints on the board about "why don't we have a bigger center channel.... We'd all be perfectly happy.

We are all so afraid to have inadequate equipment for some reason. Maybe it's Freudian. Maybe it's the whole "well for a quarter more you can super-size" thing. I don't know what it is . But I do know this. If the crap that I've been playing my movies through is "adequately" powered etc., for my room now - I can only imagine what an upgrade to the VP100 will be like. My thought is that I'll be pretty blown away.

But, then again, if I'm blown away by the VP100, what would the VP150 do for me .....

John,

I've got the VP100 in a room about the size of yours (16x22x10) and it is wonderful. I discount the added dimension of ceiling height since the audio clearly has to pass my ears on the way up .

Adrien, be prepared to be .....eminently satisifed.
