Hi!
To all HK owners, how much gain do you set for your
speakers and sub ? My setup is M22ti (fronts), VP150 (center), M2i (surrounds), and a Polk Audio PSW450 all driven by a HK525. I was playing the Gladiator DVD,
and during the battle scenes, it sounded kind of thin.
Other DVD such as Super Speedway, it's superb. Has anyone had this experience ?

For HT purposes, I would set your sub's volume level all the way up at the receiver, then control its volume by hand. Set the sub cross over (on your receiver) at something like 80hz. Turn the crossover knob all the way up on your sub. Set all speakers to small (though I usually leave my M60s at large).
That was the advice given to me here and I found it to be good.
Then, for music, you may have to switch it all back again to get the sub to behave itself.

Thanks for the suggestion BigWill. It was indeed the
gain level. I had unknowingly set it to 0 DB. I've been fiddling with the controls for about a week now and almost
ran out and bought another sub. Thanks very much sir.
