I find that separating the speakers by a bit more than half the seating distance works best. In your case, I'd try about 6 to 8 feet of separation.

As pmb points out, lots of factors influence this, but the M22s are extremely versatile and accommodating, moreso than floorstanding speakers in terms of ease of setup.
