I am not sure what to call it, chorale maybe, but I need some recommendations for some music to listen to while I am winding down at the end of the night. Think music like the elves were singing when Gandalf died. I work second shift usually and go to bed soon after I get home from work. Female voices preferred.

Chris, he's right here and he's going to save you from having to try to relax when somebody's singing and wants you to actually concentrate on the words. I've listened to a lot of relaxing late night music after doing battle with the forces of evil, and any sort of singing is definitely out.
An "adagio" is a passage of slow music, typically peaceful and relaxing, and there are numerous recordings available under the search term "adagios". Here's a nice collection, but I'd especially recommend this Debussy .

Oh good grief. I thought you guys were making fun of me. Extra humiliating because I used to own Enya, In Memory of Trees and another one of hers.
Thanks Johnk I will check those out.

Interesting, the Lament for Gandalf was sung by Elizabeth Fraser, the ex-vocalist of the Cocteau Twins.
