Hey everyone,

Not so long ago I finaly went ahead and ordered my first Axiom speaker package; On-wall M3, VP100 and QS4 as surround. I must say I am really impressed by how clear and powerfull this little system sounds in my relatively small room (14' X 13' X 8').

I decided to wait for the subwoofer, since I was not sure if I should go with the EP175 or something bigger.

Keep in my mind, this is a very well insulated little room (Roxul in every wall) and that I listen mostly to movies. (90% movies, 10% music (jazz, rock, alternalive))

I am looking to spend aroung 600-900$
Finaly, if it is of any use, my receiver is a Onkyo TX-NR616.

-Max

For your system, and room size, the EP350 gets my vote. I use mostly M22's and our rooms are about the same area wise. I use the EP350 and have been quite happy with it. From there, I would move to the EP500 as the next move up.

Where do you live? Sometimes - for US residents - there are other products you might consider.

But - if you're in Canada or simply want to keep your sub consistent with the rest of your system - I'd go for the EP350.

Like CatBrat said, the EP500 is really the next step up. The EP400 is a fine sub, but it is a specialized product that prioritizes smaller enclosure over higher performance.

Thanks a lot for the inputs! Seems like the EP350 will do the trick! FYI, I live in Canada. I read that those US made subwoofer cost a small fortune to import up here.

Can't wait to put that gift certificate to good use laugh

I think you'll be really happy with the EP350. If you decide you need "more", you can always work with Axiom to upgrade during the trial period.

Get as much subwoofer as you can afford. The EP500 reaches considerably lower than the EP350 and low is good, particularly for action movies where there can be significant content below 20Hz.

To dakkon and fredk, I must say; the EP500 got fantastic review everywhere I look.

The fact that my mains are on-wall, wouldn't it make more sense to have a bigger subwoofer (one that goes lower)?

Quake, welcome. Depending on your budget, either the EP350 or EP500 should be considered. I use the EP500, and the lower extension is significant on some of the movie material you watch. The factor of the mains being on-wall doesn't really create an even greater advantage, since any relative weakness of that design would be in the mid-bass around 70-80Hz, and any good sub covers that well.

Enjoy the music, not the equipment.
