Do you mean trade your m3s and 150$, or just buy for $150?
For $150 alone its a no brainer unless they are whipped.

If you ask me you will be taking a sonic step backwards. You will probably get far better sound if you spent that $150 on a cheep sub woofer. like this http://www.canuckaudiomart.com/details/6...lent-condition/or even a cheep Energy 8" sub circa $100 that seem to pop up on kijiji

If you're talking about going from a v3 to a v1, do not do it. The M3 v3s are far superior to M50v1s (I have a pair of M50v1s, and while they're nice speakers, they are somewhat lacking compared to any of the newer version speakers I've heard from Axiom).

Agree with Ken. The v3 tweeters are a lot better than the ti tweeters, IMO.

from what I have read, there has been some updates to the cross over, so I don't know if it's a simple kit upgrade.
I did buy myself a V3 version of the VP180 as it was prices so much better for my budget over getting a V4 when I bought it. Well, I did take me almost a year to get a room ready to even hook it up.
But I will say that I don't find it lacking for the center channel at all. But will admit when watching some TV stations on it, it does bug me somewhat between some stations play on just the center channel, while others play on both L&R fronts. The latter does sound better to me as it's a larger sound coming from the LFR's

Yep, it would be really nice if there were some kind of standards for how much content goes to cc vs mains. That way people could know how big a center channel they need. Right now the cc content relative to each of the mains seems to be anything from "significantly more" to "almost nothing".
