Well, I didn't "get" it yet, just received the shipping notice.
I'm upgrading from a VP150v2 to the high-power version of the VP160v4. I'm imagining it will play very well with the new M5s.
Stay tuned to find out how this story develops.

Congrats, Chris. I think I'll definitely have some M5s by the end of the year. I'm going to try one as a center and go from there.

What is the advantage or reasoning on the HP 160 VS vp 160.

What is the advantage or reasoning on the HP 160 VS vp 160. The M5s are all high-power. So I wanted to make sure the VP160 could handle the same input power, and output levels as the L&R. I'm not going to have M5s forever either, I'll likely end up with M60s, or LFR660s. So I definitely want a center than can keep up those. And most important I wanted the drivers to look the same across the front.

Received the center yesterday, and got is placed on my glass, cantilevered shelf. The shelf didn't explode into a million tiny pieces, so I think it'll be OK (the shelf was listed with a weight limit of 50 lbs, and the VP160 is just under that).
As for the sound, it is exactly what I wanting. After upgrading M22v3 for the M5s, I felt the VP150v2 wasn't similar enough to the L&R. Now I once again have a seamless front stage.
I'm running these all full-range without a sub (currently). The bass response is nice. Appreciably improved with the new center.

So you are please with the sound? I am still sorting on VP160 OR VP 180.

So you are please with the sound? I am still sorting on VP160 OR VP 180. Definitely. It sounds like an Axiom speaker, so there's nothing surprising there. The old VP150 always sounded a little boxy to me. It wasn't noticeable with dialog, but surround or Prologic Music seemed to push it out of its comfort range. That may not even apply to recent VP150s (I had a v2), but I've not heard them. The upgrade from M22s to M5s only shown more light on the limitations of the VP150. The VP160 not only keeps up with the M5s, it may out perform them in the bass region. As for VP160 vs. VP180, I've not heard the 180. Plus, the 160 was enough of a squeeze to fit into my setup, that I didn't even consider the 180. If you have a lot of space, and are running M80s (or larger), the VP180 would likely be a good match. Anything smaller the VP160 should do fine. Though the 160 does require more vertical space than the 180, so think about that too.

Yes thank you for your comment .I have the VP 150 is a bit boxy .I have not purchase the M80S yet .Waiting on my Volkswagen pay out then I will purchase centre and I think M80s HP ? And a new centre .I just purchase a used ADA 1500 from the us for a very good price .It was only a year old. The person I bought it from was selling his whole system .And going with all new gear. He had Martin logans he gave me a great price on all of it but US exchange and shipping not so good. I prefer to support Axiom I like the fact they are made 2hr from my house in Canada and I really like the company and there products .
