Hmm - I'll be sure to NOT buy from them. Thanks for the heads-up!

I was going to order a receiver from them but decided against it. Some here have been happy with this vendor and that's great! As far as myself is concerned, I read too much critique that lead me to believe there is an unacceptable element of risk. If a person can deal with it, then by all means shop from them.
I'll never order from a vendor that adds "9th inning" costs to an order no matter how good the deal is. As I browsed their website, I laughed when I saw their return policy - 15% restocking fee plus shipping - with exceptions. As if that wasn't funny enough, the exceptions happened to be for just about every product they sell - hahaahahaaha!

Interesting mix of reviews. I and 2 friends had excellent experiences with ecost (Denon). I believe mhorgel and a few others have done well recently as well.

My experience with e-cost was good. I'll bet a lot of retailers would look bad if you collected all their bad reviews in one place. Rottontomatoes.com does not sound like a website that solicits good reviews.

I have found that with E-Cost you can end up saving some money but you have to do some research first. Unlike a lot of retail outlets who just let you get things try them out and bring them back at will within 30 days E-Cost has very low prices so you can't expect the same kind of service with them. As far as extra charges whenever I've ordered from E-Cost they always let you know the exact cost upfront before you order (and I'm from Canada, they show me exact charges for customs, shipping, etc) so if the price is too expensive I just don't purchase the item. Why complain about things you don't even buy? As well it's a fact that more customers who have a negative experience will fill out comment cards, surveys, etc than customers with a positive experience. I'm not trying to convince people to do use E-Cost I'm just stating my personal experiences. Judge for yourself.

I believe macmall and E-Cost are owned by the same company.

I have a friend that works for Ecost, and indeed PCMall, MacMall, and Ecost are all the same company.
