If i remember it is about 18x15 w 8ft ceilings, some angled walls (not a pure rectangle).
We watch tv on the long wall hence our seating distance around 10-11 feet away. No room to move the chairs back any farther so getting a seamless soundstage has never been 100%. I was looking into the omnidirectionals to help with this along with the larger centre channel.
Probably won't do the omnidirectionals anytime soon.

Are you still running M60v2?

Of course.
The changes to new versions are subtle and take careful critical listening to determine differences. I've heard the v4 series and unless i had them side by side with a switcher, good luck telling a difference.

I was contemplating moving to wood veneer possibly in having to buy a VP180 and an EP500 so there was a thought to trade in the M60s for newer versions in wood veneer or as i mulled, going with omnidirectionals. This is way down on the list of needs though. In fact it's a possible 'want' and not a need.
What we need first is newer AVR, tv, centre channel, amp...

LOOOOOOOL! Sorry. Nothing subtle about v4 over v2. EVERYTHING is better. Lows, mids, highs, microdynamics, macrodynamics, transient response, imaging, soundstage. I have had the benefit of comparing them right in my home for months and months.

I am waiting for M2 on walls and bookshelves. I'll be comparing them with M3, M5, M50, M100, active LFR. It's quite possible that with my subs, they may be similarly good to M5s for music and movies.

That could save you some money for better sound. M2, 160 and twin 500s maybe.

Yes i've read your many colourful reports. Are you sure you're not writing articles for Stereophile?

I think I know why you can't hear a difference between v2 and v4. You need to upgrade your AC receptacles. laugh

I read your post too quickly and likely under the influence of a Frei Bros chardonnay.
I thought you said i need to upgrade my testicles.

I'll give you that one. Perhaps i do.
But i'm not the one who owns a nad tickler.

If you know anything about ballsack upgrades please let me know. Ironing and botox are not helping.

Ian builds better nad ticklers than Hitachi. laugh

Hey Chess,

I just ordered a Denon AVR-X3500H from Amazon. They are an authorized dealer, so you get full warranty (I did not know that). This is a 2018 model, and it's the lowest level Denon with audio pre-outs and supports 4K. Roughly half off the regular price right now. Only 7.2 though.

It's going to replace my incredibly reliable Denon 3808 I use in the family room. I need to replace it because I've moved to 4K. Due to this move to 4K, connecting devices and running cables has become a PITA with the 3808 in the chain. I can't use it as a hub anymore.

I've had great luck with Denon. I regret not getting a Denon for my Theater room instead of the Anthem 1120 I bought. I love ARC, but the Anthem is clunky in comparison to Denon's user interface and system set up functions.

At any rate, it's worth a look. Might fit your needs.

The 4500H is on sale at Visions. It gives you AL32 processing. Also the power transformer isn't located under the processing boards. That's a big turn-off for me.
