For over a year I owned both an SVS 16-46PC+ and a Velo HGS12II. I ran A/B tests, I ran them individually during critical test scenes in movies, and I ran them together. To my uneducated ears they sounded the same, which by the way was excellent! But running them together added a totally new sound dimension to movies that neither alone was able to achieve. Ultimately though, I sold the Velo on eBay for $1425 and purchased a 2nd 16-46PC+.
I realize these aren't the subs you're contemplating, but maybe there's something here that will help?

Yeah, that helps alot.
I'll probably just stick with the SVS. I just want to make sure it's quick enough for music, not just good for HT.
Anyways, I'll be upgrading from the dual subs my wife built when we were in college:) They have a much higher frequency range, which I don't like and they're not punchy enough.
