I haven't tried headphones. With the M2OW, I get a 180 degree sound field and images that pop well into the room away from the speaker boundaries. I get some images that form in between the speakers but they're not very deep like regular stereo. They don't pop out into the room either.
House of the Rising Sone Out in the mid or far field Dedicated mid-woofers are over-rated
