I have M50s from 15 years ago. Would I hear a big difference if I upgraded to new axiom drivers? I'm upgrading the rear channels and was thinking about new towers. My towers have always been awesome, just wondering if there is a difference when you put new drivers in.

I prefer the M50v4 over my old M80v2. I prefer the M50v4 over the M3v4. And I prefer the M2v4 over the M50v4.
If you really like the M50 sound, trade them in for v4. Improved woofers, improved tweeters and improved cross-over add up to improved accuracy and hence soundstage. I love the non-analytical sound of the M50s. Very soothing.
But with your SVS sub, you may like the M2v4 better than the M50 if you listen from 12 feet away or less. The M2 is more accurate and has terrific mids and highs. You will hear more detail. I enjoy my M2OW as much as my active LFRs.
