ok guys, has anyone listened to the M100 and/or LFR660...Is there a clear verdict on this choice? The M100 seems like the old badass struggling to keep it's fighting weight but still has the title belt! The LFR660 is today's young fast, energetic, genetically engineered fighter that will demolish anything in it's path, unless it's the T-200 aka LFR 880 or bigger.

If you like to play it loud, the M100s are the way to go. The alternative in an omni would be the LFR880HP. Or the LFR1100 Active of course

If you want the best possible, rotate your sitting area 90 degrees and put active LFR1100s on the long wall. You will experience bass and mid-range Nirvana and a deep, wide, tall soundstage with clear imaging. I know because my livingroom is very similar to yours. I didn't want to move my actives out of my livingroom.

The way your room is arranged right now, sure you could put M100s or LFRs or actives in there but you will not experience the imaging and soundstage they are capable of. It will get loud while staying clean though.

No point in pushing the point with your bride though and risk a scissors lock betwixt her mighty thighs. Then again, that might be a fun way to go!

What do you think about moving the TV over the fire place? You think that would help? Do you know how far the M100s need to be placed from the wall or the Actives? My back channels are probably going to be the 80's ow. The piano white finish will look pretty sweet on the posts between the living room and kitchen.

Placing the speakers on either side of the fireplace would certainly be better than the way they are now. You might want to give it a shot with your M50s and notice how the soundstage changes. It's going to be even better with v4. But that's not going to be nearly as good as the long wall.

I wish you could hear my M2OW on my long wall. You'd forever be a changed listener.

The further you place any Axiom from the front wall, the deeper your soundstage will become. Bass is also affected with the passives. Closer to the wall and the bass could become overwhelming and flabby. Some have to plug their ports. The actives are a different animal. You could stick them right against the wall and the bass is great. I don't know how Axiom managed that frankly.

Is there a program where you can just pay "x" amount of dollars and try both the 100s and actives?
