I just got my DVD2200 on wednesday and hooked it up quickly. I recalibrated my video but now I have a few questions about DVD audio in regards to my receiver and the DVD player.
My HK (soon to be retired) has all the usual DSP modes. Since the DVD player has on board decoders for DTS & DD what happens?
Is the audio stream from the DVD player converted by the receiver then output to the receiver?
next...
The analog outputs for multichannel sound have bass management. Is this function soley for SACD? or could I use these outputs for a DVD Video? If yes, would I want to?
The Denon instruction manual isn't really too clear on things and I was hoping that some of the resident experts could enlighten me.
Thanks,
Steveo

steveo,
I assume you've connected both the digital audio output (either coax or optical) and the anaolg outputs to your HK?
If so, then for DVDs a digital signal is send to your HK, which then uses it's own DAC to convert the signals. For SACD, the audio is decoded and bass-managed in the player and then the signal is send in over the analog cables to the HK.
While you CAN use the analog cables for DVDs, there's no reason to, since the HK can do bass management on the digital audio.
