He is now Chief Engineer. He now owns all the technical beefs and bouquets and has to defend all technical decisions Axiom makes. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qy8xyQqm4GA

Thanks Ian and Andrew for making a succession plan.
Couldnt imagine not having Axiom around for my niecies and nephews when they grow up. Just unreal. I consider Axiom up there with the hip for national treasures.

I am assuming he is Chief Engineer for Axyston. That would make sense if they merged engineering or at least have Andrew as common overseer ... there are cost and opportunity advantages to sharing technologies between the two but you'd have to be careful ... There is great value in keeping the company brands separate. Axiom as value and Bryston as high-end. It allows them to sell similar products into different markets at different price points. To do that you must not allow the Bryston brand to get watered down ... even though you and I know it's just perception.

Nothing has been made public other than Andrew being Chief Engineer. So my assumption could be a Mojoism but then again, Mojo doesn't like to wrongly assume anything. I do think the vast majority of the Bryston gear is of a higher caliber than Axiom's - including some speaker models. The T models are a higher caliber. I don't think the T subs are any different than Axiom's. The A models are no different than Axiom's. Of course there's a 20 year warranty and buying through dealers. You are very right that Axiom is much higher value particularly when you factor in loyalty, trade-ins and deals. But all of that may be coming to the Bryston lines also. For example, Bryston is now accepting trade-ins through dealers for the 4B.

Mojo, I'm just running with your speculation ... It makes some sense depending on how intertwined Axiom and Bryston want to get. The best way to keep the brands separate is to not merge anything ...
As far as Bryston being higher quality ... that's an important part of the equation ... It needs to exude quality, have better specs ... it needs to be perceived and compete in a market that Axiom does not. What does not matter as much is if it actually sounds better ... ahhh IMHO.

You can keep brands separate but still merge operationally for economies of scale.
True about not necessarily sounding better.
It's quite cool actually to have an audio company that can go to market in multiple ways. Axiom has installers, internet direct and some small dealers. Bryston is dealer only. These channels serve prospects with different buyer personas.
