Hey Crew,

I recall a point in time that Axiom offered up their DSP as a stand alone purchase for about $1000. Anybody know why it disappeared as regular item for purchase?

Assuming all other components and room were dialed in, say for someone looking to add the final finishing touches on a nice 2 channel system, would something like that make an improvement on the sound from say a nice pair of m100's or an M5hp set up?

Bryston offers a DSP for their 2 channel setups, please correct me if im wrong with that info.

I offer this thought as a point of interst, not neccassarily something im wanting to do. Just thinking put loud. If it drives the LFR series to amazing performance then it would improve the performance as well of the 2 channel series. Again, as I final finishing touch to a system. After the room has been treated and assessed too for any nodes or resonances or poor setup.

cheers.

Maybe the minidsp SHD streamer or power amp?

Has Dirac live so pretty versatile for 2ch.

Yeah I’ve looked at those out of interests sake. Really cool little capable tool.

I was wondering more about the closed system that axiom had offered and if it was still a thing or not.

There’s so many great tools out there and equipment in general. It’s almost too technical or daunting in terms of time investment to understand it that it makes me want to be a purists just to not have to dive into it. Although I secretly kinda want to…but then I’ve got to give up that time elsewhere on other hobby’s and projects. I swear I could retire right now and never get bored. I’d run out of money though!!

I think the Axiom dsp units were fixed settings and had dials or switches to compensate for boundaries. Is that what youre looking for?

Here is a better option for 2ch with dirac. Not a bad price either considering all options. Im pushing dirac because it is really worth working through. smile Very powerful tool for customizing your sound.

Yeah thanks Trevor. That’s a good looking unit. I guess I was just curious about the Axiom dsp in general.

I like the looks of the nad. Preamp and DAc in one. Nice. I don’t know if I could go without a volume knob though! I like the knob! smile

Edit: I’ve been watching the audioholics videos and others on Dirac. Very interesting tech. Seems worthy.
