First impression on the 1100s side by side with the 100s is they definitely need some break in time. The other thing is they need walls up to benefit from the rear drivers. When I slide the right speaker in front of the door so the sound reflects off of it you can tell a difference in the sound. Going to break these things in over the next week and I’ll chime back in.

Oddly enough there is a very noticeable difference in movies. My m5ow are back to being driven by the avr but as they are the only two speakers currently being driven they still sound great. I will probably end up with an 8 channel 1000 to drive them and the 6 overheads before it’s all said and done.

After about 7 hours of play they really started to improve. The soundstage became wider. I also had to reduce the tow in compared to the 100s. I’m still experimenting with placement and I need to re run audyssey again but so far I’m pleased with the improvement. The listening area is also a lot wider. I can sit anywhere and have great soundstage.

Still working on placement. Trying to dial in distance from rear and side walls. So far they seem to sound better slightly closer together compared to the m100s. Have not run Odyssey yet.

Re-ran audyssey and it made a major difference in sound. Also, I hooked up my m2s and running 7.1 for right now until I get the rest of the Atmos speakers and ceilings up. Having 360º of sound is a great improvement for movies.

I have noticed that just in the past two days having added the rear surrounds that there will be some tinkering to get the balance right, but FINALLY after 10+ years i have the surround 'sound' that i have been seeking. I knew long ago having the rear surrounds was a must. I really don't know why it took so long to finally bite the bullet and start completing this system.

Canes, I'm glad you're on this journey. You are witnessing the differences in various v4. When you move to active omnis, you'll finally understand the awesome emotional benefit of sound power riding over the listening window and both declining at roughly 3dB/decade.

It's definitely fun taking these incremental steps toward the actives. In addition to that I've also been able to test a wide variety of speakers axiom offers. I'm really looking forward to getting the walls up and hearing the finished product. Resilient channel has been ordered just waiting for it to come in and we will have the walls up shortly thereafter.
I'm going to take the m2s over to my dad's house and let him hear them in his small media room as fronts.

The M2OW and bookshelf is the best "all around" speaker Axiom makes. It is extremely versatile.
As you may remember, I had a real tough time deciding between my M2OW and the M5OW for living room duty. I am back to the M2 permanently. The M2 just perfectly integrates into any room.
The M2 is a great example of the sonic benefits of a small, solid, minimum driver system.
