Thought i'd start this short thread with a pic of our listening comparison of two speakers designed by Andrew, the Mirage OM5 (circa 2001) and the Axiom LFR880s.
Will post shortly.

There was no time for an A/B test of these although one might be setup in the next day.
Short thoughts on the large, obvious differences:
-LFR880s bass was not as deep (but the OM5 has a built in sub) and seemed more unrefined, less tight but we added in two port plugs and we felt this really improved the bass response

-OM5s seemed to have a harsher upper end, something more 'sharp' on the ears

-midrange was comparable and very good on both, great detail

-soundstage seemed a bit bigger on the OM5s, more spacious but whether this is a difference due to the tower size, my seated location or exact room positioning it is hard to say. The LFRs imaged very well but perhaps the larger LFR1100 would be a better match up with the tall OM5s.

-The LFR almost seemed hard to drive (the efficiency difference b/w the LFR880 and OM5s should give an edge to the 880s on paper (92 vs 90 db/w/m) but we did not level match with a sound meter prior to listening (it wasn't an A/B test so the observation came more from the pre-amp volume knob position as the marker).

Hopefully we'll have a chance to run an actual A/B test to get some more detailed differences between these two omnidirectional speaker concepts designed by Andrew.
