Hi All,

We have just moved into a new home and I am seeking some advice on HT speaker placement.

We have the following kit:]
Axiom vp150 v2 X 1
Axiom m22 v2 x2
Axiom qs8 v2 x2
Warfedale sw150 sub X 1
Orpheus aurora 3 floorstandung speakers (http://www.orpheusaudio.com.au/products/aurora-2-and-3.html)
Htc vive light boxes ( marked in yellow in photos)
Onkyo 5.1 ht amp ( to be upgraded in future)

I will be getting a speaker switch box to switch between the ht amp and the hifu stereo system ( sansui au517, there's turntable etc).

Unfortunately the window in the picture limits the options, but here is what I am thinking:

Vp150 mounted under or above the tv
Aurora's either side of the TV on the floor
Subwoofer in rear corner next to windows
Qs8s on back wall behind couch or the m22s in the rear corners pointing to the couches

But that leaves the m22s or the qs8s spare.

What are everyone's thoughts here?

I would mount the QS8s on the side walls a foot or two ahead of the couch. So one will be mounted above the window and one directly across.

I'd trade in the 150 and M22 for a VP160 on-wall and put that under the TV.

Maybe take it an extra step. Make a deal with Axiom to trade in your QS8 for QS10v4 as well when you trade in the 150 and M22.

I'm fine with keeping all the speakers stock and in your suggested positions, but getting an Atmos 7.1 AVR with some sort of room calibration microphone setup. Let the system deal with any tonal issues of the older Axiom v.2 speakers. Keep the M22 as a possible rear surround speaker or front height channel.

I prefer the TV to be at eye level when seated, but you can always tilt the screen downwards.

Thanks everyone. Some great advice.

I will set up the qs8s as mojo suggested and sit on the m22s for now. Hopefully the roller blind won't mess with tone of the qs8s too much. Maybe mount one on the back wall. I'll mount the 150 below the tv.

Re the tv, yep. The mounting bracket was already there. Once the sparky moves the power point, we should be able to tilt it down a bit.
