I'd like to offer up another fact to take your listening pleasure to another level. It is the ear warm up.

As you should warm up before doing any exercise, you should prepare the inside and outside of your ears for sound pressure rates of change. Here's how I do it:

1. I start out and work in. With each thumb and index finger, pinch the lobule of each auricle and execute three gentle yet purposeful down-ward tugs.

2. Slide your fingers to the middle of the auricle and pull twice as if attempting to pop a X-mas cracker. If you hear a snap, you've pulled too hard.

3. Slide your fingers to the top of the auricle and pinch the helix. Pull upwards three times.

4. Now to the middle and inner ear. Release your auricles and rest your left hand on your 'nads and your right hand on your left hand. Take a deep breath from four inches below your navel. Expand your belly; not your chest. Gently pinch your nose with your right hand. Now slowly release your breath through your mouth while saying "ahhhhhhhhhhhhh!" You will feel both ear canals relaxing while your 'nads resonate. Do this one more time.

Your ears are now ready to flood your brain with neurotransmitters.

I'm guessing you warmed up for that post by rolling a doobie.

I've never had one but I guess since our government has legalized it, it must be OK, huh? smile
