Has anyone viewed "The Godfather" from the box set released in 2001 on their VP150?
My wife and I watched it the other night and I was dismayed to hear a cracking noise, almost like the speaker was being overdriven, when the actors would enunciate hard.
I did not have the level set any higher than I had previously and it only seemed to happen when the actors enunciated hard to drive home a line.
I have viewed other movies recently (The Missing, LOTR:ROTK) and did not experience this anomaly.
I am interested in if it is the remaster of the film onto DVD and if anyone else has experienced it as my VP150 works flawlessly except in this one case.
Anyone...anyone?

I watched it a few weeks ago, and I didn't notice anything like that (which is not to say that it definitely wasn't happening). I have a VP100. If you want to identify a particular scene or bit of dialog, I'd be happy to give a listen again and see if I hear any cracking.
