My basement HT is 15X25 with 10 foot ceilings. The 52" TV will be on a long wall. I have purchased the denon 3805, outlaw sub,qs8's, VP 150 center, I have the cash for either the m60ti or the m80ti...Do I just say..."ah the heck with it, the bigger the better" and go with M-80ti, or do I show some fiscal responsibilty and go with m60ti?
I've read you post's for months now and I really appreciate your thoughts. Most have said the only drawback of the m60ti's is the lack of low end base. I've got a good subwoofer...so is this enough or will I notice a marked improvement and audible "NIRVANA" with the m80ti's
Thanks Guys!

I guess I would say with a sub like the Outlaw, you'd probably be fine with the M60s. I have the M60s, and am curious to try the 80s someday...but I have a home theater set similar to yours in a room size similar to yours. Honestly, you could go either way. If you have the money, it could be fun to say..."I can go no higher!"
But the 60s are no slouch. I'm quite happy with them and can't imagine that I would need more.

But when I say that I'd like to try the 80s, this is coming from a guy who likes to "play". I plan on buying, moving around, adding another room set. So I don't mind doubling up speakers...I just move the other ones to another room.

If you have the money to say, ah what the heck, I'd say do the 80s. If not the 60s will pretty much get you where you'd want to go in any application.

Though I guess I haven't asked one of the critial questions, which is how far you'd be sitting from the front speakers...?

At 11 feet I'd have to give the nod to the M60s.

But I'm sure others will chime in. It'd be nice to hear from people who own the 80s, and there are some on this forum who do.

Good luck with your decision. Very exciting times indeed!

Welcome Jac,

Your room could very well do the M80s,11 feet away should be fine I sit 13 feet away from mine.I have them in a room that is 15x20 and they sound great. You already have a reciever that can handle a 4 ohm load so that is a none issue.

If the extra money for the 80s is ok then I would say what the heck go for it you will not regret it.

he says this as the blood has just stopped dripping from his ringing ears, after a long listening session.

sometimes, you have to resist the 'bigger is better' theory.. the 60's will be more than enough. but, if you are into going completely deaf, then go ahead and spring for the 80's.

I love my m60's for my HT. My total basement room size is about 30' x 30' and the HT portion is about 15' x 25' with 9' ceilings. Using Denon 2805
