I am close to buying a pair of m22ti speakers. I wanted to know if I am doing the right thing, because I recently got burned quite a bit with returning online-ordered A/V equipment.
I just returned the Magnepan MMG-Ws, because they were too directional and sounded too boxy for listening to music. Also my Pioneer Elite VSX-21 was barely able to power these speakers. I own a HSU STF-2 and my room size is a living room 12'x20'.
I only recently started looking at more mid-scale equipment so I my sound expectations are probably not as high.
Do you think I would be happy with a pair of m22ti?
Thanks, Thomas

I think you will be wowed my the M22s. There are very efficient -- your VSX-21 will have no trouble driving them -- and they are some of the least boxy-sounding bookshelf speakers I've ever heard, in any price-range. Since you already have an HSU STF-2, the combination will cover the entire audio spectrum very nicely.
Another reason to go Axiom is that they have some of the best customer support on the net.

I've had my M22s (with an EP175 sub) for a little over two years. Last night I bought an STF-2, and the combination is unbelievable. I keep saying one of these days I'll step up to a pair of M60s, but why bother? I'm almost afraid they won't sound as good.

Thomas, If you haven't done so already, go to the "questions and comments" thread and see if anyone lives in your area. You might be able to find someone to give you an audition so you will know if the m22's are right for you. Cheers, Richeydog.

I have my M22s in a 8000+ cubic foot room and find that they sound great in the room and in the loft above it as well. They don't "fill the space" like a high end tower speaker would - you know, blast you out of it like a rock band was playing in the room - but my wife can scream at me from 10 feet away and I can't hear her and that's with a lesser receiver and sub than you have.
You should pull the trigger and buy them. You won't be disappointed.

Another vote for M22ti, I'm matching them with a SVS PB1 and I couldn't be happier. My living room is almost identical to yours and they can play as loud as you can tolerate. Every now and then I still take my wife to rock concert(just went to Dave Matthew's couple months ago) so I know what loud music is, if you feed them enough power these M22ti have no problem cracking your ear drums with authority!!
