Well, for kicks, and by a stroke of inspiration I took my M2s (which I use for channels 6 and 7 in a 7.1) and moved them to my front soundstage.
So...I have my M60s bi-amped to the A/B channels on my receiver. But with the top connectors on the M60s I bi-wired with my M2s. So basically, I have the same amount of drivers as an M80 and theoretically I should be pushing 4 ohms as well.
Bottom line, it sounds fantastic. The speakers on the towers wouldn't be aligned the same as on an M80, but it's still very impressive. I may just have to get the M80s someday!

No wonder you are a misfit toy, I guess I might be too!! I posted a similar situation, as I have been weighing the 80s , and 60s. But my room won't allow me to put my existing 22s in the rear. We recently bought a lot, and will be building a new home shortly, so that always justifies the ol upgrade logic. That will be one sweet HT room whem I'm done!! but for now I talked about putting the 22's and the 80s or 60s up front also. I have opted for the 60s cause in the new home the HT room will be 18x25x9, I run (2) earthquake 580 watt subs, (3) QS-8s, and the 22s will go to the rear, I think that is certainly adequete. So I will have my new 60s (due tuesday) and I will put the 22s up front, and if it's to congested-sound wise, I'll have to put them in the den, however, rarely is anyone in that room, so that kinda bothers me that the 22s would be wasted, so I am trying to integrade them some how without being silly.

MT, interesting to read how good your M602s sound. One point though, if you're simply using the A and B terminals there're no separate "channels" involved; it's just a parallel connection to the one amp channel, so no biamping is in effect.

Right JohnK. It's just a lot cleaner cablewise with the biamp(like) setup. Although I have to say...my front soundstage never sounded so good. Those M2s may have to become a permanent resident sitting RIGHT on top of my M60s. I'll probably replace the rears with another pair of QS8s and I am still quite intrigued to get a pair of M80s now.
All in good time I guess. In the meantime this has been fun. I think I'll leave it like this for a spell...see what I think of it for a variety of movies and games and whatnot. Overall though I find it actually adds to movies...adding a greater sense of volume and clarity.
I took my Yamaha to reference level wired like this and it sounded really good. It has yielded a better soundstange than I had anticipated. I haven't found it to be too bright, or too loud, or too out of balance. Amazing speakers Axioms are. I'm a proud owner...no matter what arrangement I'm running them in
