Hello,
Im new to this home theater stuff and I need some advice. I recently bought a pair of m22ti's and hooked them up into a pioneer vsx-1014 receiver. I really liked them and now I find my self surfing axiom's pages hungering for additional speakers for a 5.1 setup. The only way to stop this seems to be to buy the speakers...
Now the question is that can I hook up the 6ohm vp150 and qs8 into my receiver which is configured for 8 ohms for the m22ti's. It seems the receiver can only be configured for 6 or 8 ohms at a time. Is it better to run the whole system with 6 ohms or 8ohms, or should I just go for the 8 ohm vp100 and qs4?

The hungering your feeling for more speakers, is a classic symptom of the much dreaded upgradeis fever. There really is NO CURE only temporary remedies.
This being said, you'll be fine running your reciever at 8 ohms with the qs8s. If you go with the vp 150 over the 100, I'm really not sure what you should run your reciever at, being that you would be running 3 6ohm speakers and only 2 8 ohm speakers, but I'm sure someone will chime in directly and give you better advice than I.

that receiver is fine with the 6ohm load of the qs8's and vp150. have no reservations about that.
the only real trouble would be if you were trying to push some 4ohm M80's. now that might cause you some heartache.

Axel, welcome; there will be no need to "configure" your 1014 for 6ohm speakers. Leave the setting at 8ohms; there will be no problem. A lower impedance switch or menu setting should only be used as a last resort if the receiver would keep shutting off. The lower setting reduces the voltage available, which also reduces the current and maximum power available(Ohm's Law; I=V/R or current equals voltage divided by resistance or impedance, and P=VxI or power equals voltage times current).
