I ordered the Epic Grand Master system about 5 weeks ago which included m22ti's, vp100, and qs8's. I am wondering if I may have made a mistake and not ordered the vp150 instead. I love the system overall and has plenty of volume for our setup, with a small 32" tv, but I can't help wonder if the vp150 would be better as our system is used mostly for HT. I plan to look for a large sceen tv down the road and don't want to short change myself. Any comments if there is significant differeces in the two? I can't help but wonder............thanks!

Sorry, I needed to add that our room is 15x15x8 with the listening position about 10' back. We use this mostly for HT and some music. Thanks.

The general concensus SEEMS to be that the 150 would play a bit louder and possibly offer an enhanced dispersion pattern useful for viewers who are well off-center (like my Uncle Floyd). Someone correct me if I'm wong, but I believe that since both the 100 and 150 use the same 5 1/4" driver as your M22s, either one should be voice-matched to your existing speakers.

The size of the present or future television is not as important as the type of material you enjoy in your home theater and the size of your room. If you like it REALLY loud or have a particularly large room, the 150 MIGHT be a better option for some. I think that your comment "I love the system overall and has plenty of volume for our setup" pretty much says it all, considering the difference between the 100 and 150 would be very small if you are currently happy with what you have.

You really have no choice , the minute you begin to wonder is the minute you had better upgrade.

I agree with both Mark and Ford

Ray3 has the VP100 and is completely satisfied. Of course, Ray has adopted my old adage that "'easily amused' is a virtue". I believe that Neverhappy did comparisons and found virtually no difference between the two.

The one point I would underscore is the dispersion; some VP150 converts assert that the sweet-spot is a bit wider with the VP150. Other than that, I've not seen or heard any compelling evidence that, for a room your size, you have any technical reason to upgrade. Emotion is entirely another matter.

If money is not a big factor go for the 150, then you'll never wonder what if. I recently got my 150 and couldn't be happier. No upgraditis is a good thing.

I'm with all of them as well. I got the vp100 and started wondering 'what if' right away. Just get the vp150 and you'll be able to remove that worry.

Also, does it make me a geek that every time I type vp I want to type vpn?

No, but if saying "ssh!" to someone makes you think of secure shell, that makes you a geek.

When I read it I read it "S S H" I'd say that's pretty bad.

Is it just a peculiarity of my setup, or does everyone have to set their VP150s to -4dB below the fronts? I have M60s, and sit about 12' away...

M- M60s/VP150/QS8s/SVS PC-Ultra/HK630 Sit down. Shut up. Listen.
