Hi folks,
I am in the market for some ht speakers. What I had in mind is a couple of the m60ti's up front along with the vp150 for the center channel. I will eventually throw some surrounds back there, but I want to start up front. My questions are these. Will the HK-AVR-520 be enough to power these speakers very efficiently? Does the inventory in the factory outlet change often? I see they only have the light maple in the m60's and that isn't exactly what we are looking for. If anyone could help me out, it would be wonderful. Thanks in advance!!

Hey,
I'll answer those questions (albeit quickly). Yes - stuff in the factory outlet changes very often. Also - as far as whether or not a particular amp will power the M60's enough... I suggest looking up up the sensitivity (in dB) of your current speakers - if the Axioms are rated higher, then they will play louder - if they are rated lower, they will play quieter. Of course, all of this depends on the accuracy of those reporting the specs....
hope I helped,
jason

Thanks for the reply. I don't have the receiver/speakers yet. The hk is rated at 75/5, but people say it's a "high current" amplifier. Let me know what you think if you see this. Thanks!!

Denon 1803 is the same price and rated at 80 watts/channel with equal power on each 6 channels. You can also look at 1603.
Since M60 is 8 ohm speakers, Hk should also work.

49er, the 520 has plenty of power for the M60s in home listening rooms. Don't give too much weight to small differences in rated power. Remember that at a fairly loud listening level the average power used is about 1 watt. Brief peaks might hit 50 or even 100 watts, but receivers like the 520 can easily handle that.
If you can be a bit patient, the M60 in cherry will show up again on factory outlet. The list changes weekly, but you might give Joe at Axiom a call to see if a pair you'd like has become available.

Enjoy the music, not the equipment.

Don't worry about the power rating. Anything in that level of quality or higher will be fine. It's easy to fall into specmanship in home audio but largely pointless. These things can't be quantified as easily with a spec as the final judgement goes to a very subjective receptor, your personal taste.
