I haven't had time to read it, but thought I'd point it out:

I don't have a sub yet (6 months away at least).
May be a stupid question. If yes, then pardon my ignorance.
Can I put a table cloth on the sub, place it in a corner and serve as coffee table? Will it affect the sound quality?

48 hours AFTER I get my 2 SVS 20-39PC+'s!!!!!! I couldn't be happier with my subs, and I hope the 500 & 600 end up being great subs for Axiom. I look forward to a detailed review, hopefully from a couple of sources. But that is great news, the folks at Axiom were very high on these subs, and they may very wel have a right to be.

romeo,
Sure. My sub is at the end of my couch as a quasi-end table. Sound quality will be unaffected. Of course, once you get a sub, you may find that the bass is too strong if you place it in the corner. That's where you will get the greatest enhancement of deep bass from the intersecting walls and floor. But you can move it along one wall or the other away from the corner to reduce the bass output if it sounds too boomy.

dang...there are two items in that list that have been on my "I must have it" list. The Denon 3910, and that sub. Anybody got a couple grand sitting around they don't need? I'll gladly take it off your hands.

A better DVD/Universal player is the last thing on my list to complete my HT makeover. I really want the 3910 also, but am waiting for the SACD approval for Denon Link. I've heard so many good things about the 2910 (and at half the cost) that I might go that route instead.
I've had something of a spending spree these past couple of months, though, so I might sit on it for a bit.

A new dvd player won't be purchased in our household until we get a new tv...which god knows when that will be. But when that day does finally arrive, we'll be going all out, and I certainly don't want to have a $100 dvd player driving my $5000 +/- tv!
The subwoofer though...that may actually be a doable deal. We need an end table in the living room. If the measurements are right, an EP500 may work. I already dropped the idea past Roger...and shockingly he wasn't opposed to it.
An EP500 would make a GREAT house warming gift...(hint, hint Amie.)

Just tell Roger not to leave any delicate crystalware on the new end table during any bass-heavy movie screenings!
