Pirates of the Caribbean is one dvd I recieved from Santa, so it is on my to watch list. The beginning of that show is excellent when Depp steps off that sinking boat onto the dock.

yeah im looking forward to Burton's version, if only because the original flick was sooooo f'in freaky he's the only director i could see ever doing it!

Agreed. Wilder's Wonka was played with a fantastic sense of menace. He was a very dark character and not to be trusted at all. Tim Burton is the only one who could pull off a remake (although I understand that this is supposed to be far more faithful to Dahl's book). Still, I've got to say I'm pretty skeptical.
