Mark,
You brought up a good point as I took all my measurements in my main listening area and didn't check the listening area on the other part of our sectional. The BFD made such a BIG difference in the way my SVS blends with my Axioms and taming I think it was as much as a 15db peak in my curve that I can't help but think it would improve the output even in the "non sweet spots". I would have to run another check with my tones and meter to be sure that my "theory" holds water.
My room is also square measuring 20 x 20 and my sweet spot is where my wife and I sit all the time. I will try to recheck my other listening areas this week and report back to you with my findings.
The way I see it is if you are having problems with peaks and valleys adding a BFD can't do anything but help the situation.
Regards,
Rick

That is generally true. To avoid wreaking havoc with the sound for the rest of your listening area, it is usually recommmended that the BFD be used to tame the peaks, rather than boost the valleys. Room modes are not really correctable with a BFD because you will boost that range in other parts of the room to a great degree. The BFD should be used to flatten the curve, but not make it perfectly flat, if that makes sense. That being said, I would check your current bass response curve to see if you can use one. Maybe you are lucky and your room configuration is great.

I was joking.... that's what the smileys were for!
I figured it would seem pretty smart-assey to look a gift horse in the mouth and ask you to do drop everything and take those measurements right away!!!
I think I'm just going to get the BFD. As you said, even if it doesn't help every seat in the house, it's gotta help to a large degree.... and that would already make it worth the time and cost!
Thanks for your input!
