Well crud! I'll finally get to purchase next week and the wait times for the factory outlet have increased exponentially. I think I read that the wait times are usually much shorter than they say. Is that right?

I think the times go up and down. The lead time probably indicates # weeks until Axiom's best guess of when they're going to have to make more of that particular model. I imagine if they get more orders than expected they have to build sooner which reduces the lead time.

I haven't seen any indication that the wait times are "much less than stated", just that they're "rarely more than stated and usually a bit less". If you wait a couple of weeks the lead times will probably go down again by a couple of weeks

Seriously, you might want to give them a call and see what the situation is "right now". I expect they have to raise the lead times before they actually run out of FO stock to prevent the case where :

- they have 4 sets left
- 7 people order at roughly the same time, before the site can be updated
- 4 are happy, 3 have to wait longer than the site said

I wonder if part of the expanded wait times reflect the anticipated crush of orders due to income tax refunds in the US?

Rook, i ordered from fo couple of weeks ago. and they told me they take the time of the shortest item and the longest item and divide by 2 to get your wait time. i ordered and everything was about 2-3week wait except the 60's which were 4-5week i got everything in about 3 weeks or less. sorry to be so sketchy im just not sure off the top of my head the weeks just blend together. also they were so early im still not done with my HT i have them setup with everything on the florr in the livingroom. anyway goodluck.

Rook,
I also ordered some of my pieces from FO, and they were a week earlier than what the initial estimate was. I want to say that the M2i's, EEP400 ;-), and SV150 were less than two weeks behind the M60's and Qs8's that came out of regular stock.
They surprised me with how fast everything got here.

You will get your speakers no later than the date that was current at the time of order, usually earlier. The dates on the website will fluctuate with production schedules, etc... If you ordered more than one speaker, which ever had the longest date is the one when your speakers will be due to arrive.

I got mine 13 weeks from the date that I ordered. They arrived not a day early, not a day late.

13 weeks, man! My God. You'd have thunk that they would be at least a week early, but they were not.

Don't get your hopes up. Their figures are pretty reliable as they have a fairly good handle on the rate of 2nd run "F-ups" related to the amount of product ordered on average.

We'll see, and I wish you good luck waiting.
