Mini, i heard/read someone on audioholics say/write. that straight up in the air was the best way as well.

Straight up in the air, huh ? Might try that... I find pointing straight ahead my surrounds end up a bit too loud and my center ends up a bit too quiet.

Yeah, that's the way the custom installation and calibration techs where I used to work at do it. I'm not sure why it changed from pointing it slightly forward to straight up, but that is how the new set-up discs and some manufacturer's like M&K, Monster, Denon, and others recommended doing it.
