have two qs8 in rear corners of room. receiver is yammi rxv1300, and i don't understand how to set up speakers. when asked in receiver menu,in feet, how many feet away, is it asking feet away from mains, or distance from listening position? believe this deals with delay?? if not, can someone explain how delay is done.
thanks

The distance in feet is relative to the listening position, and indeed is used to calculate delay.

Yes I know, but only in Black. I bought Boston Cherry Speakers, and have all Cherry furniture in my house. So I wanted Cherry stands which Axiom does not offer. So I am building my own.

so..if they are located in the rear corners, one about 3 feet away from wife on her couch, and the other on the opposite rear corner about 3 feet away from me, with the center of the room being about 10 feet to center, do i set for 3 feet, or 10 feet? wife will not allow side wall position of speakers.
thanks

Well, you have to decide on one "ideal" or "avarage" listening position in your room, probably somewhere between your and wife's couch -- you can be as ego-centric as setting your seat as the listing point, or the other way around. LOL At any rate, however, some compromise is in order. The physical "center" of the room does not matter; what matters is your avarage listening position, which may or may not be close to the center of the room.
Cheers!

My wife said she didn't want the surrounds on the sides either. When she came home from work, that's where they were. She took a quick look and said, "I guess they don't look bad there after all". She hasn't said anything else about it. I have the 1300 too. Set them up from where YOU will sit. Nobody elses position matters. (especially what's her face that doesn't want side wall surrounds!!)

I believe that the surrounds should be on the side wall, and that is where the QS8's will go when I order them. now my surrounds are in the back corners of the room. I usually do things when my wife is at work, and she usually ends up liking the result.
