Since my surrounds are pre-wired, their positioning is essentially done. They're being wall mounted, and if it's not perfect, well too bad at this point.

However, I am still working on the mains. Here is how I have it set up so far:

Now the wall is not much wider than what you see in the photo. To the left of the left channel is a door leading to the balcony, so I'm obviously wanting to move the speaker as fat back into the wall as possible (it's slightly indented).

Should I move the rack? Right now the speakers are about 8 feet apart from each other.

Looks pretty good, but I'd try to get the speakers equidistant from your screen. The rack is fine where it is, so just play with the placement of the speakers. I'd slide the right one a little closer and/or slide the left one a bit farther.

For those of us who are lazy: Saint's HT

Jordan, I would just "centre" the TV between the 22's.

Ok so that's easy...

I can't get the t.v. right up to the wall obviously due to the spaghetti of wires behind it. So what part of the t.v. should the speakers be lined up with? I'm talking closer/further to the wall.

Ideally, you want the front of your speakers to be in front of (closer to you than) the front of your TV. But this is secondary. What's more important to movie and 5.1 music listening is that you get your speakers the same distance from the sides of your TV. So if the left speaker is 3 feet away from the left side of the TV, the right speaker should be 3 feet from the right side of the TV.

I agree; however, I would move the rack all the way to the right next to the side wall, the sub all the way to the left next to the wall, have the two mains equal distance from the side of the tv, and about a foot or so in front of the screen. So, if its 20" from the front of your tv to the front of your screen, your mains would be 32" from the front wall to the back of the speaker.

How far away from the TV is your seating position? If you listen to music with this system you'll also wan to consider imaging and soundstage. For this you want to be seated at a distance that is between 1-2 x the distance between the main speakers.
