I had some time to kill, I was off today. I listened to a pair of the paradigm studio 100s, I found the sound to be similar to my 60s. I felt the bass was a tad tighter, but thought the 60s had an edge in the mids. I thought the sound was very comparble. Maybe it was the acoustics, the material, my mind, my bias, I don't know. I honestly would have given a very slight edge to the 60s. The 100s are (IMO) a better looking speaker, also a laminate/no wood cabinet, but very well done. The drivers look great. I like the rounded top, but not crazy about the black plastic it's made of. A great looking speaker though. I would love to compare them A-B. They were 2300.00, and the rep. told me no real discount, but he "might" be able to wave the 6.5% sales tax. Just curious if anyone has auditioned the studio 100s.

I have heard the digms' you referred to and did have M60's in my home for a few weeks.

The main difference to my ears is the Paradigm's are a little emphasized in the mid-bass region. Other than that, the 100's do go a little lower than the M60's. All in all, I think of them as being fairly close sonically.

They're pretty darn close to M80's, IMO. I almost bought a set, but then stumbled onto Axiom's web sight. I actually went back to the store after having the 80's for a few months, and yep, they still sound alike. I'll be interested in the test results of the blind test that craigsub is doing this fall. He has both 80's and the 100's.

$2300 for a pair, or each? I really like the little feet on the speakers, I think it gives them a cool look.

You sure about that? That seems like a good deal to me, not Axiom like, but a lot better than comparably priced models from other manufacturers.

Yep 2300.00 U.S. for the pair, got a call today saying they would in fact wave the tax, 2300.00 out the door. They would probably run more if they were not a vinal cabinet. They look and sound very good. But I did not hear an improvement in the sound over the 60s @ 900.00.... they are more than twice the price. They are taller and look better, and they are 86 lbs each!!! they are not a "bad" buy compared to many out there, in fact pretty good value IMO, but again, more than twice the price, you better convince me with some real improved sound, thats me at least.

I've auditioned the m80 and the 100s. The 100s had more/better bass while the m80 excelled in the highs. Both are exellent speakers. $2300 for the 100s is a complete rip off. My dealer quoted me $1900 for the 100 v.3 just over a month ago so don't let him fool you with that "I'll wave the tax" bit and if you go to AVS Forums you'll find other people who paid around $1900 for their 100 v.3 too.
