Hi everybody,

I have a question concerning the set up made automaticaly by my Harmon Kardan AVR 335. After doing the EZ set up with the microphone, all my speakers are set to SMALL. The Xover goes as follow 200HZ for the L+R, 200hz for the center, 150HZ for the surround and 120 for the surround back. My front are M50's and my surrounds are QS4. Am y missing something or those setup are wrong. I would like some advice on the proper settings, if any.

Thank's

Those M50s will go down to at least 60 hz in your room, before rolloff. 200 is way too high, even for the HTIB satelite. Axiom's smallest M2i speaker measures flat to 90 hz before rolloff, in an anechoic environment(no bass reinforcing boundaries), which should give you an idea of how off 200 Hz is for the M50s. I suggest you lower it.

As to the surrounds and center, 90 hz seems good.

I run 60 or 80 for my M50s (can't remember which) and 100 for my VP100 and QS4s on my H/K 525.

G, I assume that there wasn't any extra noise in the room when you ran the calibration. Apparently there was very little low bass being measured by the microphone in its position, even from the M50s. I wonder if the mike(and your listening position)was near the center of the room in a location where there was a bass null which the mike was reading. It might be interesting to move the mike 3-4' closer to the wall behind and re-run the calibration to see if the results are different. In any case, those crossover settings should be manually adjusted as the manual describes(leave the other EZSet calibration settings alone). Since two of the settings available are 80Hz and 100Hz, the M50s should probably be set at 80Hz and the other speakers at 100Hz.
