All this talk about Fallout makes me want to start playing it again. I still have the expansions to get through... I actually prefer it over Oblivion, but I like them both. In any case, I'm pretty well addicted to Left 4 Dead 2... definitely my favourite game of '09 (just ahead of Dragon Age). And I'm eagerly awaiting Mass Effect 2.

I've been looking for a good computer game (that I would like), but don't know of any more. My favorites have been:
The old Infocom games back when they were popular. All of the Myst game series Syberia and Syberia II Mystery Island and Return to Mystery Island The Kings Quest games. And a few that I can't remember the names of.
The kinds of games I don't like. Those like the above, but really boring quality. First person shoot em up games like Call of Duty.

Man, adventure games used to be the biggest games there were. I do miss those days.

I don't play adventure games often, but I have good memories of Kings Quest games. Here's a list of popular ones with decent reviews... although I haven't play them myself. As far as I know these are all games on PC. The Longest Journey Grim Fandango The Black Mirror Shadow of Destiny (my brother enjoyed this one) Keepsake Also, as much as I despise IGN, they do list games by category so you can always check there for any newer adventure games.

As a long time Adventure game and MMPORPG player, I can't say enough good about Dragon Age Origins. A very engaging storyline. A bit dark to break it away from the traditional and a good character development system. You can concentrate on just your own character or you can micromanage your entire party, so it suits different play styles. I'm about 60% done as I took the time to explore restarting the game as different races to see how it greatly effects the beginning storyline and influences it still later on.
With great power comes Awesome irresponsibility.

I'm playing Dragon Age as well, but only about 15% done...it's a big game. I stuck with one character, but after I beat it I'll likely go back and play just the beginning as others so I can see all of the opening stories.
