I've got the PS3 and it is pretty good. I have a 42" TV and sit roughly 7' away and I find myself constantly leaning forward to read the dialogue. I can see how it's geared toward the PC, but the console interface gets the job done just fine.

I got Dragon Age last month for the PC and I love it! I made one character look like me (mage), and the other like my wife (warrior). I don't have too much time to play, so my main character is only level 8. I'm at the "Castle" now. The storyline is great, and it makes you really care about the characters who team up with you (Alistair in particular).

I Really want to play this game but have heard that the console versions don't look nearly as nice, and unfortunately my computers aren't the best in the world either.

So, are Bioshock and Dragons Age similar style games. My daughter seems to think I would like Bioshock.
I picked up the first Ratchet & Clank ps3 game for my son last week and I'm pretty impressed with the way they have integrated surround sound. Makes me want to try something a little more to my taste (something that requires strategy/thinking).

I have Bioshock and Dragon Age for the PC and I like both of the games. Different types of games though. Bioshock is closer to a FPS, and Dragon Age is closer to a RPG. Both games have very interesting story lines (Dragon Age may be a bit better), and both are very fun to play.
I think you can download a free demo of Bioshock to try it out.

Hmm.... I'm not really into shoot-'em-up games. I wonder why my daughter recommended bioshock to me? Maybe I'll give Dragon Age a go.

Bioshock is fun in that you are really immersed in the atmosphere and it seems that the developers really paid attention to the small details. It's what sets the game apart from others like it.

I'd put Half-Life in a similar class, but you do have a bit more opportunity to run around in Bioshock. A bit.
Still, if you don't like twitch gaming, it's probably not for you.

I'm not into them either, but Bioshock is a bit different. As said above, the atmosphere will really draw you in. Try the free download 1st. The art deco 20's theme in the game is really fun and interesting.
