I have the 502 and find it is a very easy and straight forward unit to use. I have the Onkyo with the Hsu Ventrioquist system. IMO it is a remarkable system for the money and size. The room it is in is a bit over 2000 sqaure feet opening into a hallway. I use it for H/T only, the dialog seems crisp and clear with no complaints of "what did he say".
