OK great input guys. I have updated the "plans" to look like

The only problem that I can see with the speakers being back that far is the point that JohnK brought up about the fact that they are not rear surrounds as this is only a 5.1 system. Will this placement still sound as it should? Another concern is that they are going to be about 5' behind the listener now as well, will this effect the experience at all? If so Another possiblity would be to use the floor stands to place them where they should go.
As for the Pioneer DVD player, I will def. look into it. How do Pioneer's A/V Recievers compare to DENONs? (I like things to match
)
