Yeah I've been a bit leary of the big events for much the same reasons as you. Adding to that, you never know when a group of old guys get together after 25 or 30 years if they still have the energy and will play up to your expectations. I knew Sting was still a pretty active performer but really knew nothing about Copeland or Summers post Police careers.

Tickets were priced at $225, $95 and $65. We went for mid-priced field level seats which put us about 75% back from the front (about the 50 yards line) and for my tastes they were perfect seats. Good sound and pleasantly loud. We walked up to the front section for the first 3 songs (see below) to see them up close and get into the party mood. Three songs was all the volume my ears could take.

If you are hoping to hear some material from Sting (and the others?) solo careers you'll be disappointed. They played strictly Police material. Here is the song list from their openning concert in Vancouver. It's nearly identical to last nights performance.
