If your house was built more than 40 years ago and has shellac'ed (or varnished, I forget) baseboards apparently dogs find that VERY tasty. One of my friends had a 130 year old house and two large dogs -- the dogs pretty much ate all of the woodwork in the house.

Ahh, yes, one of my dogs is like that. If you let him sleep on something REALLY comfortable he's good for the whole day, particularly if he knows he's not supposed to sleep there.

One of my friends threatened to make a 1/3-scale couch for my dogs to sleep on when they're in the cage.
